From Exit 20 on I-64, drive south off the exit ramp to US 60. Turn left and drive 2.9 miles and turn left on Howell's Mill Rd. and follow for 2.1 miles to a bridge across the Mud River. Mill is on your left back in amongst the trees. No tresspassing signs all over. Not a very good photo op anyway.
The driveway across the bridge on Mud River on the north side of the river and going up hill is private property and belongs to the Howells Mill Christian Assmbly. There is a gravel parking area on the south side, but it is unclear if this is private property. However, speaking with some local people, it is obvious that many people park here to go fishing. This is not a swimming hole.
