From the town of Cowen, on WV 20, follow WV 20 (Webster Rd.) north out of Cowen. When travelling north on WV20, coming into Cowen, you will come to a 90 degree turn at a traffic light in Cowen. Turn right at the light. From here drive about 1.4 miles and bear right onto Williams River Rd. Drive 4.4 miles on Williams River Rd. and turn right across the "low water bridge". This is FR 101 and is not clearly marked. Drive 0.2 miles to just after a right hand bend in the road. Here you will see an unnamed road on the right. That's CR101. Some call it FR101. Turn right onto this un named and probably unsigned road and drive for 4.4 miles. The Gauley River will be on your right and the waterfall is roadside at a campsite. There is a driveway sort of entrance and you can pull in and park. The waterfall is visible from the road on your left as you approach and just before the entrance to the campsite. It's pretty obvious and not hard to find at all.
